(Albany, NY) CHA Consulting, Inc. (CHA), one of the nation's largest engineering firms ranked by Engineering News-Record, has completed its integration of Indianapolis, IN-based RW Armstrong. The two firms are now united under the CHA name.

"This marks an important milestone in our efforts to expand in the Midwest and beyond," said Ray Rudolph, CHA's CEO, "We now offer a wide range of expertise and services to the public and private sectors. Our goal is to partner with our clients to create economic development opportunities that allow them, and us, to flourish."

With the integration complete, CHA is now a 1,400 person firm with offices around the globe offering a full spectrum of engineering, architecture, planning and construction services. It has ambitious growth plans for the Midwest.

Rudolph also noted that CHA plans to add staff in each of its offices throughout the Midwest. "Our goal is simple: to staff each office with a diverse range of experienced technical professionals so we can provide an array of local knowledge and personalized service backed by the resources of a global firm."

CHA now has seven Midwest offices in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and Tennessee. It also bolstered its presence in Florida, Texas, Virginia and internationally.

"We're excited to have RW Armstrong's staff fully integrated into CHA's structure," added Rod Bascom, CHA's President and Chief Operating Officer. "They share the same philosophy that has helped us grow for the past 60 years. They listen to their clients, partner with them, and work hard to bring their projects to fruition on time and within budget. It's why their clients keep coming back time and time again. They were a perfect fit for us."

RW Armstrong traditionally offered transportation, aviation and environmental services. Now, with CHA, their services have expanded to include asset management, building design, construction management, economic development, energy conservation, industrial engineering, land development, power systems, rail engineering, sports facility design and utility support.

The merger creates a firm with total revenues in excess of $220 million, making it one of the nation's largest engineering companies. CHA anticipates having a workforce of 2,000 people by 2016. Its acquisition of RW Armstrong is the latest in a series; the firm recently acquired Coler & Colantonio in Massachusetts, Gryphon Engineering in Ontario, and Olver, Inc. in Virginia.
