Biogas Project of the Year AwardThe Monogram Clean Energy Plant in Martinsville, VA, was one of four recipients of the American Biogas Council’s Biogas Project of the Year award at its annual conference. As part of an expansion of its production plant and to address waste treatment needs, Monogram Foods contracted with CHA Tech Services to design/build a new Clean Energy Plant (CEP). The plant utilizes anaerobic digestion (AD) to treat its process wastewater and capture biogas generation. The biogas is then used in a CHP generator to produce electrical power for plant operations and hot water for digester conditioning.

CHA Tech Services’ partners were Monogram Foods, H&V Consulting, LLC and Dudley Ventures. Congratulations to the CHA and CHA Tech Services Team of J.S. Brown, Lawrence Hoffman and David Patton for their work on this innovative project.

According to the American Biogas Council, “The Monogram Clean Energy Plan is bestowed the distinction of the American Biogas Council 2017 Biogas Project of the Year Award for its innovative financing and deployment of incentives and overall exhibiting leadership in the space, acting as an example for the entire US food and beverage industry.”
