CHA's Craig Avalone Named Young Energy Professional of the Year by Association of Energy Engineers

Rochester, NY – CHA Consulting, Inc. (CHA) announces that Craig Avalone, P.E., C.E.M., LEED AP has been named the 2017 Northeast Region Young Energy Professional of the Year by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE®). Presented to individuals 35 years or younger, the award recognizes outstanding contributions to the energy profession.

Mr. Avalone is a project manager/energy engineer who has dedicated his career to identifying ways to optimize energy use at a remarkable number of manufacturing facilities and for a variety of industrial clients including automotive, electronics, pharmaceuticals, textiles, mining, food and beverage, glass and optics, petroleum, defense, paper, plastics, and power plants. He also determines the feasibility of renewable energy projects, assuring each project has a positive impact on the client and surrounding neighborhoods.

As an energy engineer at CHA, Mr. Avalone also serves as an outreach contractor and project manager for the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). He assisted the development, rollout and management of industrial programs within the New York State Clean Energy Fund, a 10-year, $5 billion program to reshape the state’s energy efficiency, clean energy, and energy innovation programs. Since the program’s inception, he has helped industrial customers receive millions of dollars in funding to support their energy projects.

Mr. Avalone received his degree in mechanical engineering from Union College in Schenectady, New York. This award will be presented on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. The award ceremony precedes the 2017 World Energy Engineering Congress September 27 – 29 where Mr. Avalone will be a presenter.
