DHL Express and DHL Air Park -- Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport

CHA provided engineering and construction services for the expansion of DHL’s United States hub at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). Facilities included:

  • Airport Access Roadway Relocation
  • New 150,000 Sq. Ft. Sort Building
  • New Welcome Center/Pilot Crew Facility

  • Apron Utilization/Remarking Plan

CHA also provided engineering and construction services for the site development of Cargo Building ‘F’. This project required careful planning to meet FAA airfield requirements while meeting growing cargo demands. Design elements and construction plans included:

  • Detailed Airspace Analysis to conform to FAR Part 77 requirements
  • Cohesive coordination with architectural firm to develop new container loading and unloading areas, utilities, roof drains, and lighting
  • Demolition plans including removal of trench drains, pavement, bollards, light poles, auxiliary electrical power stations, and an air traffic control tower (ATCT)
  • Pavement reconstruction details with conformance to NFPA guidelines
  • Utility coordination and design including EPA permitting
