Project : Towns of Rich Creek and Glen Lyn Sanitary Sewer Improvements

Towns of Rich Creek and Glen Lyn -- Rich Creek and Glen Lyn, Virginia

CHA was selected to develop a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) that comprehensively evaluated both the Town of Glen Lyn and and Town of Rich Creek’s sanitary sewer collection and treatment system, which outlined the following system improvements:

  • Construction of the Midway Pump Station (100 gpm capacity)
  • Replacement of 2,200 linear feet of gravity sewer to reduce I&I
  • Sewer rehabilitation of 30 manholes and 3,000 linear feet of vitrified clay pipe with cured-in-place pipe
  • Construction of a 0.2 MGD WWTP designed to meet a future TN limit of 6 MG/L
  • Refurbishment and upgrade of the existing Rich Creek Pump Station to convey the Town’s sewage to the new WWTP
  • Construction of over 15,000 linear feet of 8-inch force main between the Rich Creek Pump Station and the new WWTP
  • Abandonment of the existing Rich Creek WWTP and reclamation of the site for the Town’s use
