American Fire CEO Discusses Careers in Fire Protection Engineering at Wallace State Community College

Josh Whaley, CEO and President of American Fire, was invited to speak with students at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, Alabama. Josh, accompanied by other American Fire staff, discussed career opportunities with students enrolled in Wallace State’s welding, HVAC, mechatronics and engineering technology courses. Wallace State Community College is one of the largest colleges in the Alabama Community College System, serving the needs of more than 300,000 individuals.
Josh, a 1997 Wallace State Community College graduate, was joined by fellow Wallace State graduates and American Fire employees, Justin Johns, Designer, and Nathan Graves, Fire Protection Design Training Manager, as well as American Fire’s Joseph Whitt, Fire Protection Engineer. The four spoke at length with applied technology students regarding various role descriptions and expectations within the fire protection engineering field.
Raised in Hanceville, and a graduate of Hanceville High School, Josh feels a responsibility to give back to the community and help students forge their own way forward at Wallace State, where his career path began. “I want these students to understand the avenues they have available to be successful in any career. You can earn a two-year degree and be successful,” said Josh.
