CHA has provided a variety of engineering services to support Orange & Rockland Utilities (O&R’s) capital improvement and maintenance initiatives. Following is a sample of services and projects completed.
Transmission Line 652 Design
CHA was responsible for the analysis and design for the conversion of Rockland Electric’s Line 652 from 69 kV to 138 kV, including analysis and design of lattice towers, substation take-off structures, and wood pole structures. CHA also provided geotechnical soil borings and technical support for complex permitting.
North Rockland Feasibility Study
CHA provided field investigation, engineering, design, drafting, environmental analysis, and surveying services for an assessment of various alternatives to tap an existing 345 kV transmission line and construct a new 345/138 kV ring bus substation at Lovett Substation in Tompkins Cove, NY.
Bowline Substation 345 kV Line Bypass
CHA provided professional engineering services for the design to relocate the overhead terminal portion of 345 kV Transmission Line 68 so it will tie to the underground portion of existing 345 kV Transmission Line 67 at the West Haverstraw and Bowline Substations.
